Q is for Quick Tips: Building skills

Quick Tips : Quality Time, Understanding, Inclusion, Connection, Kindness, Teaching moments, Inspiration, Partnership and Security

Quality Time- There is nothing like spending quality time together. It helps us remember we are loved, valued and wanted by another and gives us the chance to offer the gift of our time to those we care for.

Understanding -Knowing who someone is as an individual and taking time to understand their story and what motivates their actions is key.  Take time to listen with an open heart.

Inclusion -Keep people close and include them not just in the moments of your day but also share your heart, your thoughts and your ideas with them too. Unite humanity together regardless of individual differences.

Connection -Find the ways that you can connect.  What is it that you both like to talk about? What kind of activities do you both like to do or in what ways do your ideas connect to help improve each other's lives or the lives of others in the world? Together we make the world better.

Kindness- Take the kind approach. Do small acts of kindness for others and be the person who brightens the lives of others with your positive actions.

Teaching moments- We have a lot to share and invest in each other so take every moment that comes your way to teach others what you know and what you have experienced to benefit them.

Inspiration- Find ideas that inspire. Expose others to all you can so that they have multiple sources of inspiration and then encourage them as they fly!

Partnership -Work together. Two are better than one. A teacher needs a student and vice versa.

Security -Offer others a safe place to share their ideas and burdens. Let them know they are never alone and can always come if they need help or support. It is important that the child(ren) in your life know you are a safe place and provide them the security of having someone in their corner who will listen and support them throughout life.

These quick tips are nine ideas of ways that we can make the world better for the child(ren) in our lives.
